It is with great pride and deep gratitude that I assume the role of President of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists (IADVL) for the year 2025. I extend my heartfelt thanks to my esteemed predecessors, respected colleagues, and all our dedicated members for their unwavering commitment to dermatology, research, and patient care.

As we embark on this new chapter, IADVL remains steadfast in its mission to promote excellence in education, foster innovation in research, and enhance clinical practice for every member. In a rapidly evolving field like dermatology, our shared responsibility is to stay ahead of the curve—delivering the highest standards of care while supporting the professional development of our community.

My Vision for 2025
1. Stronger Member Engagement

We aim to create more opportunities for professional networking, knowledge exchange, and leadership development—ensuring that every member feels included and supported on the path to progress.

2. Empowering Dermatologists

We will strengthen academic initiatives by:

  • Enhancing Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, especially for practicing dermatologists.
  • Expanding digital learning platforms.
  • Establishing mentorship avenues for emerging professionals and young leaders.

3. Ethical & Inclusive Practice

Ethics and inclusivity will remain at the core of our efforts:

  • Advocating ethical standards in clinical practice.
  • Addressing everyday challenges faced by both early-career and experienced dermatologists.
  • Supporting policies that protect and advance our profession.

4. Advancing Research & Innovation

We will:

  • Promote both clinical and translational research.
  • Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Strengthen evidence-informed practices in dermatology across India.

5. Public Awareness & Advocacy

Our public outreach will focus on:

  • National awareness campaigns on skin health, STIs, and leprosy.
  • Dispelling myths and reducing stigma through education and community programs.
  • Serving underprivileged populations, including the elderly, destitute, orphans, and individuals with physical or mental disabilities.

By uniting our efforts, we can shape the future of dermatology in India—founded on principles of excellence, integrity, and inclusivity. I warmly invite all members to participate, contribute, and engage actively with IADVL as we move forward together.

Here’s to a transformative and impactful year ahead!

Warm regards,

Dr. Rohit Bansal
